The rail kit that comes with the Pro Series 5th Wheel Hitch w/ Square Tube Slider, Rails and Install Kit # PS30129 will technically fit your 2003 Dodge Ram with an 8' bed when using the Bracket # RP58023 since the rails are universal, but I recommend going with a different kit that is similarly priced. This is an entry-level setup and the 5th wheel hitch uses a slide bar jaw which is very basic and will make your ride uncomfortable and you will feel your trailer pushing and pulling you.

Instead I recommend going with the rail kit # RP30035-023 and the Reese 16K 5th Wheel Hitch # RP30047. This 5th wheel hitch is an upgrade because it uses a dual-jaw system that makes full 360 degree contact with the king pin on your pin box for ride that is much smoother than the slide bar jaw. This kit will not fit if your pickup has overload springs.

If your pickup does have overload springs you will want to use the semi-custom rail kit # RP30035-186 with the same Reese 16K # RP30047.

You may also be interested in a 7-Way Harness like part # HM42137 as well. This allows you to mount a 7-Way connector in the bed of your pickup to make connecting and disconnecting the wiring on your trailer much easier.
