Wiring Harness for Curt Venturer Brake Controller on 2006 Ford F-150
Question:
I have a new Curt venturer brake controller and wiring extension for my 2006 f150 but the plug on the wiring connection or controller does not match the plug under the dash that is preinstalled. Do i need to get a different plug that will match the one that is pre installed in the truck?

If you have the Curt Venturer Brake Controller # C74VV the correct wiring adapter for your 2006 Ford F-150 is the Curt Custom Wiring Adapter # C51322, assuming you have the factory 7-way.
Should you have that adapter the OEM plug on your F-150 should be on the underside of the dash like the one circled in the accompanying photo. If your plug does not look like that you may not have found the correct one and you will need to remove the trim panel below the steering column; the plug should be on the right side near the center console and radio area.
I have added a link to a help article for you on installing a brake controller in a Ford truck which should be useful.
