Should Reese 16K Slider # RP30051 Slide Back and Forth in Locked Position

Question:

I just bought a reese 16k yesterday from another company and now it seems the 5th wheel will not stay in the locked position. It keeps sliding back and forth. Am I doing something wrong?

Expert Reply:

Although the handle for the sliding action of the Reese # RP30051 slider is fairly easy to use by hand, it should definitely not be sliding back and forth on its own. If you have it in the locked position but it keeps sliding I would take it back and get a new one if possible or replace the sliding legs with # RP30048 or # RP50024.

I have attached some review videos for you to check out.
