Troubleshooting Brake Controller that Shows No Trailer Connection When Trailer is Connected

Question:

hi I bought a prodigy p3 brake controller and trailer plug from you. I have it hooked up and all the lights work but says no trailer attached. where should i start checking? it is on a 2016 colorado. I used both your instalation videos as my guide when i installed both products. Thanks

In almost all situations when the P3 # 90195 says that a trailer is connected yet there is trailer wiring plugged in the issue is corrosion on the trailer wiring of the vehicle or trailer. If you clean the pins of the connectors you should see the connection establish and the brake controller start working.
