Should BoatBuckle Vertical Rod Hold-Down be Used on Vehicle

Question:

I plan on using these on top of my car, how strong and durable is the foam from ripping or tearing? estimated how fast could I go on the highway with rods in them?

The BoatBuckle Vertical Rod Hold-Down PLUS System # IMF15435 is not designed to go on top of a car, it is meant to be mounted inside a boat so there really is no telling how it might hold up and I would not recommend going this route.

It sounds like you have a roof rack on top of your 1995 Honda Civic and instead of using this I strongly recommend using the Rhino-Rack Ski and Fishing Rod Carrier # RR572, which holds up to 4 fishing rods. This will clamp onto your roof rack's cross bars with its universal clamp-on mounting brackets and even comes with locks to keep your gear safe.
