How to Access the Taillight Wiring on the 2011 Hyundai Tucson for Installing a 5-Way Trailer Harness

How do you get to the wiring on the Tucson tail lights with out brakeing anything the tail light cover is difficult to get off. thank you for your help

To access the wires that supply power to the taillights at the rear of the 2011 Hyundai Tuscon, you will need to remove two Phillips head screws that hold the taillight assemblies in place, see photo link. After the screws are removed, carefully work the taillight assembly straight out from the rear of the vehicle, wiggling it slightly side to side.

Once you have the tail light assembly pulled away from the vehicle you will be able to access the wiring connectors for installing a 4-Way wiring harness, like the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness, part # 118501 and you will be able to use a circuit tester, item # PTW2993, if needed, to find the reverse light circuit for connection of the blue wire for the 4-Way to 5-Way adapter, # 20036, that you referenced.
