What Changes Need to be Made After Installing Over Under Axle Kit on Trailer

Question:

Thinking of increasing ground clearance on our 25 foot double axle travel trailer. I would take it to a dealer to have this done, but I would like to know if there are any handling issues after doing this conversion? I realize the weight distribution hitch will need to be re-calibrated, and the ride height will be increased by 3 inches, but are there any issues I need to be concerned with like higher COG, etc. or am I just thinking too much? Thanks in advance.

Over under kits like the Dexter Trailer Springs Over-Under Conversion Kit # K71-384-00 that you referenced will raise the center of gravity for the trailer. In theory that could cause a potential ride issue but we've yet to hear from a customer who installed a kit like this and had issues. Most likely you'd only need to move the head of your weight distribution system up two holes so that it sits higher and you'd be set.
