For your 2017 Lincoln Navigator, the towing capacity is rated for 9,000 lbs. That of course is not based on the number of passengers in your vehicle. I looked up your owners manual online and it gave the Gross Combined Weight Ratings, so you simply will check your model with corresponding towing package to get that rating. Then you will subtract the 6,440 from that total to get the complete combined weight your vehicle and trailer can be.

If you will be towing a trailer that is over 3,000 lbs, then I recommend the Prodigy P3 brake controller # 90195 and the wiring harness adapter # 22292 for an easy installation with your factory tow package. I've attached a video of the brake controller functions to assist.

A 2018 Coleman Lantern 280RL has a dry weight of 6,169 lbs. That is before you load anything in it. with your 2WD 2017 Lincoln Navigator filled with your family, you will not be able to pull this is you have the standard tow package as you would be over weight by 309 lbs without any additional cargo at all. However, if you have the heavy duty tow package you will be able to tow that trailer. You would actually have 2,491 lbs of cargo weight you could add.
