Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a quick look at this OptiMate 2 Duo Smart Battery Charger. This is an AC to DC smart charger. That's gonna plug into your wall outlet, so that you can automatically charge and maintain 2 batteries. This is going to work with an input voltage of 100 to 240 volts of alternating current. And then it is going to provide a maximum charge amperage of 2 amps per battery bank.

This will work with multiple different kinds of batteries. It's got different battery profiles that allow you to charge both your 12 volt lead acid batteries, be it your Flooded, AGM, Gel, Enhanced Flooded from 6 to 96 amp-hours, as well as your 12 volt lithium iron phosphate batteries from 2 to 24 amp-hours. So this is gonna be perfect for charging up lawn mowers, motorcycles, ATVs, cars, SUVs, trucks, boats, or tractors. This does have a 5-step charging algorithm that is automatically going to charge, test and maintain your batteries without overcharging them. It'll analyze your batteries condition to provide a nice customized charge with low voltage detection rating, going all the way down to 4 volts.

Then it will, once the battery is full, it will maintain that battery at 100% to extend the battery life and improve performance. You can see, it does have these LEDs here to indicate the charging status, so that you can very simply see where, where your battery is at, what it's doing. So very easy to get hooked up, get your batteries charged up. Now, this is a nice durable weatherproof case. It's got an IP rating of 54, so it will hold up well for you.

And you can see it will mount to your wall with the little holes here, mounting locations, just put a nail or a screw through there and it'll hold on the wall, so that you can just keep it in one place, connect to your batteries. They do include 6 feet of cable here. So it gives you plenty of room to plug into your AC port on your wall. And then each of these charging cables is also 6 feet. So it gives you a little bit of room there to reach out to your different applications, whether it be a motorcycle or a truck, something along those lines.

And then each one is going to have these 2 different ways of connecting to your batteries. And both of these are 20 inches long. So you've got your battery clamps here, it will allow you to quickly and easily connect to your battery for a temporary connection. It's got the SAE connector that just connects right in place there. And you also have your eyelets that will allow more permanent connection. So that you can connect these to your battery's post. This does have a 15 amp fuse that helps protect the electronics from potential short circuits. The connector does have a zip tie slit on both sides, so you can easily fasten this to your vehicle. And then our SAE connector has the weatherproof seal and cap that helps to keep out dirt and water. So you can just keep this permanently attached to your vehicle and then connect it up to the battery. And once it's in the garage or wherever it is that you're gonna be using this. So you have that on both sides. So very easy to connect permanently to a couple of vehicles, your batteries. And then you'll also have the temporary attachments with your battery clamps here. So a really nice option here, if you are wanting to charge up your 12 volt batteries. This will do a good job of allowing you to just easily plug it into your wall outlet and get those batteries charged up. So that's gonna complete our look for today.
