Troubleshooting Observation Camera System That Shuts Off
Question:
I have a FOC48TA-BL that works only for short times when it is turned on. Camera has power and so does the monitor but video only will stay on for about 2 minutes, If i unplug camera for a short while and plug it back in, It can get video but lose it shortly, I think maybe the camera might be bad. I just had this installed about 3 months ago by the dealer I bought my camper from. The wired it to stay on all the time on the battery supply for camper with no shutoff switch. My question is when camper and camera are not being used should their have been a shut off switch installed or can the camera be left on all the time.

Your Furrion Digital Wireless Observation System should be staying on all the time under the wiring you mentioned. The installer must have installed the wiring so that it is connected to a circuit on your trailer that is determining that that power draw is not appropriate and shuts it down. I recommend doing a test on the camera by running the camera directly from the battery to see if you have the same issue. You can test it with a simple jump wire and then you will know if it is the wiring or the camera system with the issue causing the interruption.
If it is the camera system, you will want to reach out to the manufacturer as it should be on as long as the correct power is supplied to the camera and monitor. If you want to upgrade to the newer Furrion system, you can use # FOS43TASF.
