Right Hand Turn Signal and Brake Lights Not Working

Question:

I have a 2016 Dodge Ram truck with a dedicated fuse for the trailer right turn signal and brake lights. It is good doesn’t look melted. The right turn signal and right brake does not work on our travel trailer and a utility trailer and have replaced bulbs in each. What else could it be? I have a canopy with a brake light bulb.

As you mentioned, the fuse box is the first thing you will want to check but be sure to look in your owner's manual so you know you are checking all the necessary locations. The next step will be to check the ground for the right hand side trailer light. If the fuse and ground is good then the only other option would be to begin tracing the right hand turn/brake signal wire back to the starting point using a circuit tester and testing at intermittent points to see where the break in connection occurs. I would also pay special attention to the pins inside the trailer connectors.

If you have access to a different trailer or tow vehicle you can easily pinpoint if the problems lies with the tow vehicle or trailer.
