Hitch Extender for 2-1/2 Inch Receiver to Tow Trailer with Tailgate Down

Question:

I have a 2017 f250 with 2.5 hitch. I want to be able to tow my 28’ travel trailer camper with the tailgate down so we can put the golf cart in the back. I think I need a 12” extender. Do you have anything like this? Thanks

I recommend taking a look at the Curt Hitch Extension # C45048. This extender will slide right into the 2-1/2 inch receiver on your F-250 and provide you with a 24 inch or 34 inch length. You can trim the bar so that you have the shorter 24 inch extension. This is a bit more than what you are needing but this is the closest option available for your 2-1/2 inch receiver. Also note that the receiver portion of this adapter is reduced to 2 inches.

When used as the 24 inch length the adapter has a towing weight capacity of 6,000 pounds and a tongue weight limit of 600 pounds. I have attached a short video demonstration on this product that you can also check out.
