Does Even Brake Proportional Flat Tow Braking System Need to Sense Deceleration to Apply

Question:

I installed a even brake system to my 2004 honda pilot today. Everything working except when i brake on my RV the even brake did not brake the towned vehicle. What did i do wrong here? Does both car have to be on the road running to active the brake on the even brake system?

The Even Brake part # RM-9400 that you referenced is a proportional system that needs to sense vehicle deceleration to activate the brakes of the towed vehicle. This means that if you aren't moving it's not going to apply the towed vehicle brakes. I'd recommend attempting to brake again but this time with the setup moving and you shoudl see the towed vehicle brakes apply.
