How to Use Stabilizing Straps With Curt Hitch on 2015 VW Golf
Question:
I was wondering in what way do you use the stabilization strap #18050 with the hitch #C11412 for 2015 VW GOLF TSI? I am a widow who wants as easy as possible bike rack so I can ride my bike. Ive used the ones that adhere to the back of the car with a bunch of straps but dont feel confident in doing this myself and feel they are unstable. Since my help mate is no longer with me, I want a hitch bike rack that I can easily handle. Ive ordered C11412 and two of 18050, found a company to install the hitch and have found a Class 1 bike rack but am wanting to know all the ins and outs of the stabilization strap or straps Do I need 2 straps? Do I attach the stabilization strap or is that something done at hitch installation? I have not ridden my bike for two years because of this bike rack ordeal!!! Hopefully Ill be on the trails soon with the help of your hitch and straps!! Thank you...

Better than telling you how to use Stabilizing Straps # 18050 with hitch # C11412 on your 2015 VW Golf, I can show you via the video I linked that demonstrates exactly how to use the straps.
The stabilization straps - of which you only need to use one - are not put on when the hitch is installed, you will need to put them on when you use your bike rack. All you really need to do is loop one end around your rack, attach the hook to your Golf and tighten it; it's quite easy and I promise you'll get the hang of it quickly and will be riding the trails in no time.
