I took a look at the online owner's manual for your 2017 Toyota Tundra Limited and found that its towing capacity can vary quite a bit depending on your exact model (engine size, cab style, bed size, etc). For example, the regular cab Tundra with 4WD, 3UR-FE engine, and an 8 foot bed can potentially tow a trailer that weighs up to 10,300 pounds. However if you have a double cab model with the 1UR-FE engine this capacity can drop to as low as 6,500 pounds.

Because of this wide range, and the fact that the weight of the trailer you are looking at will likely be pushing even the highest rated models, I highly recommend verifying your truck's specific capacity by checking your copy of the owner's manual or visiting a local Toyota dealer with your VIN. You might also consider going with a lighter trailer so you don't put too much stress on the truck.

If you have the 8 foot bed, the Reese M5 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # RP30928 that you were looking at is a great choice. This hitch features a forged, self-latching jaw that will wrap completely around the trailer king pin for a secure connection and the wide funnel will allow for easy hookup. I then recommend the Custom Installation Kit # RP50084-58. This kit will provide you with the needed base rails and includes custom frame brackets that will use existing holes in your truck's frame for installation.
