Recommended Tires Size 205/75-14 for Fast Load Boat Trailer

Question:

I have a Fast Load trailer with a 26 foot boat on it. Together they weigh close to 8000lbs. Currently I have ST205/75D14 tires on it. I have been told that I should go to radials because of the way the are constructed vice a D type tire. I need to replace two tires on my trailer and two spares because of age. What type of tire should I buy if I need a D load rating, radial or diagonal?

At the 205/75-14 size you are seeking and the Load Range D, we only have Radial options which will give you a better ride on the street than the bias tires with the diagonal cord pattern.

If you want a good quality tire with a load capacity of 2,200 lbs at 75 psi and a speed rating of 81 mph, I recommend the Karrier ST205/75R14 Radial Trailer Tire # AM10235. This tire has a 2 year warranty.

If you want a great warranty of 5 years with 2 years of complimentary roadside assistance, then I recommend the Westlake ST205/75R14 Radial Trailer Tire # 274-000012 rated for a load capacity of 2,040 lbs at 65 psi and speeds up to 75 mph.

You will want to have matching tires on all your axles for best results. It is not recommended to mix and match tires between bias and radial. I've attached an article to help with other tire questions we frequently get to further assist.
