Adding a 7-Way Trailer Connector to a 2007 Jeep Wrangler with Factory 4-Way Wiring
Question:
I have a 2007 Jeep Wrangler with factory tow package with a 4 wire flat connector. What is the easiest way to convert to a 7 way connector? Is there connector that just plugs into the existing wiring connections? Thanks for your help.

If the trailer has a 7-Way connector, then it probably has electric brakes, and you would want to go ahead and get the 7-Way fully functional and install a brake controller. We have a kit just for this situation. It is the 4- and 7-Way Installation Kit, # ETBC7. It comes with a 4 to 7- and 4-Way adapter, wiring, and circuit breakers you would need for installation. I have included a link to an FAQ article and a video that explain the ETBC7 installation. The only other part you may need is a circuit tester, # PTW2993, if you do not already have one.
For a brake controller, I recommend the Tekonsha P2, # 90885. It is one of our best selling brake controllers because it is easy to set up and easy to use. I have included a link to the installation details for the brake controller as well.
