Recommended Anti-Rattle Device to Use for Trailer Towing

Question:

Can I use this part on my reciver on my 2017 Chevy Silverado , towing about a 6000 lb travel trailer, or if not this one can you recommend one for my truck and travel trailer. I seem to have a lot of play between the reciver and ball mount that I have . I purchased the Curt 17323 WD hitch from Etrailer.thank you . I would like some thing easy to install.

I do have a solution for you, however the MaxxTow Anti-Rattle Clamp referenced in your question is not recommended for use when towing a trailer. This particular device is designed to be used with hitch-mounted accessories like bike racks and cargo carriers.

A better option will be with the Roadmaster Quiet Hitch # RM-061 as long as the 2 inch hitch receiver on your Silverado has a ring or collar around it. This will simply slide over the shank of your ball mount and the U-bolt will hook around the collar of the hitch receiver to eliminate the rattle and sway within the receiver.

I have attached a short video demonstration on this product that you can also check out.

If you are getting a lot of movement with your Curt Weight Distribution System installed, I also recommend making sure you have everything adjusted properly, as the design of a system like this should eliminate most if not all movement at the receiver.
