Is the Terminal Grease Included with the Hopkins Connector Part # HM48190 Conductive
Question:
For Hopkins 48190, the instructions, after wires are pressed into v-shaped splices, say Apply terminal grease to splice area before replacing splice cover. Wouldnt the grease short the splice contacts? Your video doesnt mention this step. I could see using a non-conductive grease to protect from corrosives that manage to seep in the splice area but thats not supplied. Im assuming the grease is conductive since the last step instructs Apply terminal grease to terminals.

Expert Reply:
The terminal grease that is included with the Hopkins Endurance Quick-Fix Replacement 4-Way Flat Trailer Connector part # HM48190 is non-conductive therefore you should not have any issues using it on the quick-splice terminals of the trailer connector. The grease as you mentioned is designed to keep out dirt and moisture therefore is highly recommended that you use accordingly. If you need more of the terminal grease for other applications then you can use part # 11755.
