5th Wheel Base Rail Dimensions and Kit Options for 2018 Ford F-150
Question:
are all the reese fifth wheel rails the same length and what holes do you drill on 2018 Ford F-150

Expert Reply:
All industry-standard 5th wheel base rail kits share a common fit with all brands of 5th wheel hitches, including the 16K Reese hitch # RP30047 but the install kits vary. We have custom-fit base rails kits that require less drilling and semi-custom kits too. Not all base rails are the same length, however.
Reese Custom Install Kit # RP56034-53 fits 5-1/2-foot, 6-1/2-foot and 8-foot bed versions of your 2018 F-150. This kit includes outboard brackets that are easier to install (since they mount on the outsides of the frame rails) and extended length base rails that are 48-inches long so they match up to the wider bracket spacing. Standard rails are 43-inches.
We also have for all bed lengths the semi-custom kit # RP30035-31 which costs less than the custom kit and which uses the shorter rails.
If you want to tell me your bed length and which kit you're interested in I will be glad to confirm installation details.
