Does Capacity of Trailer Jack Relate to Total Weight or Tongue Weight of Trailer
Question:
Hello, I have a 2002 Timberwolf 6x10 enclosed utility trailer. The original A-frame Jack has seen better days and is on its last leg. I was wondering if the 1000lb capacity on the jack would relate to the hitch weight or overall trailer weight. I know this is designed for boat trailer but if possible would be great on my trailer for the purpose of pushing it around inside a pole barn. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Attached is a picture of the trailer. Thank you.

The lifting capacity of a trailer jack like the part # PSEJ10000101 that you referenced is relative to the trailer's tongue weight. So the part # PSEJ10000101 has a 1,000 lb tongue weight capacity which would work well for your current trailer as it most likely has a fraction of that as tongue weight.
Since your trailer has an A-frame jack on it currently the part # DL22530 might be the better choice for a replacement as that is what this style of jack is.
