What Does the LED /no LED Designation Mean When Choosing A Wiring Harness For The Kia Soul

I have a 2013 Kia Soul. I need the trailer wiring kit but have a question. What is the “led/no led” designation on the kit for. The car itself does not have led taillights. Is it referring to the type of lights on the trailer? Please inform me

Expert Reply:
The wiring harness option for LED bulbs is for the vehicle not the trailer. So you will be choosing a harness on whether the 2013 Kia Soul has LED lights or not. When you click on the harnesses available you'll notice that some are the same for LED or non-LED. For example, the Tekonsha # 118637 is confirmed to work with or without LED lights. The plug-in location is behind driver and passenger side tail lights.
If you don't already have a trailer hitch and ball mount to tow a trailer, then I recommend part # 24839 and # 3593 which will fit your Class I hitch. For a hitch ball # 19258 is recommended for a 2 inch ball or # 19256 for a 1-7/8 inch. # PC2 is recommended for a pin and clip.
