Installation of 7-Way Wiring Connector on 2005 Chevy Silverado 2500
Question:
I am trying to wire up a new 7 pin connector on my 2005 Chevy Silverado 2500. Do yall have a wiring diagram that can direct me on which color wires from the truck go to each pin on the connector?

If you don't already have the connector, I recommend the Pollak 7-Pole, RV-Style Trailer Connector Socket w/ Wiring Harness and Mounting Bracket # PK11898. Although I can't give you the wire colors of your specific truck, I can give you the color and function of the wiring harness so you can match function to function.
This connector utilizes the following:
Red - Left Turn and Stop - 14 gauge
White - Ground - 10 gauge
Blue - Electric Brakes - 12 gauge
Green - Right Turn and Stop - 14 gauge
Black - Battery - 12 gauge
Brown - Running Lamps - 14 gauge
Yellow - Backup Lamps - 14 gauge
You will need to use a circuit tester like # PTW2993 to determine the function and color combinations of your truck to match to the connector. You simply will test one function at a time on your truck and probe the wire insulation to find the correct wire as your circuit tester light responds to the function. If you already have a connector, I've attached a photo to show you the wire function locations to assist with the pin locations.
