Trailer Hitch for a 2018 Ford Edge Sport for 2 Electric Mountain Bikes

Will this trailer hitch work for 2 e mountain bikes when it is not a 2 inch sleeve as recommend ?

It all depends on the bike rack you are using. If the bike rack is compatible with just 1-1/4 inch (Class II) or 1-1/4 inch (Class II) and 2 inch hitches then you would be fine with Curt trailer hitch # C12140 for your 2018 Ford Edge Sport provided the combined weight of the bikes and rack does not exceed 350 pounds. For this hitch Curt also says you have to use stabilization strap # 18050 when using this hitch for any non-trailer load (such as a bike rack or cargo carrier) per their warranty requirements.
If the bike rack does only fit in a 2 inch hitch then I recommend Draw-Tite trailer hitch # 75234 and with it you would not need the stabilization strap. I have included links to videos showing example installations of both hitches for you.
