Troubleshooting Prodigy P3 Brake Controller and Electric Over Hydraulic Brake Actuator Communication
Question:
Hello i have a a Carlisle serial no. 700617 hydraulic actuator on my trailer connect it to and HBA-CAM 381-7073, i own a ram 3500 5.9 diesel with the TEKONSHA PRODIGY P3 BRAKE CONTROLLER, but i m not getting the actuator to work hear it does not look compatible any idea maybe what combination would work. Thanks

It is likely the issue is that you are using the adapter module # HBA-CAM. The Prodigy P3 # 90195 will work with the Hydrastar brake actuators directly. The Carlisle name you may want to look up as some of the Carlisle Hydrastar actuators were recalled.
I can guarantee that the P3 controller and the # HBA-12 for drum brakes or # HBA16 for disc brakes will work without an adapter.
If your vehicle has a integrated brake controller, you will need to make sure it has been disconnected and the TIPM has been reconfigured after disconnecting the ITBM. I've attached and article to assist.
