Recommended Trailer Hitch 2012 Subaru Outback To Carry Bike Rack
Question:
I am looking for a hitch that fits my 2012 Subaru Outback. I plan to use it for a Thule bike rack and most likely not for towing anything significant. Ease of install is most important as I have limited tools and experience. I appreciate your recommendations.

For the 2012 Subaru Outback Wagon I recommend the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 75673 which IS made with do-it-yourselfers in mind. The ease of install is a 6 out of 10 compared with other hitches for the Outback which have a difficultly as high as a 10 out of 10.
As a bonus this trailer hitch does not require stabilizing straps to carry a bike rack. This product is an easy, bolt-on installation with no welding required. The complete hardware kit and installation instructions included. Drilling and lowering the exhaust temporarily may required for installation. Minor heat shield modification may be required.
I have a complete video of this Draw-Tite hitch being installed on a 2012 Subaru Outback Wagon attached.
One of our most popular Thule bike racks, is the Doubletrack Pro XT Bike Rack # TH92BJ
