Expert Reply:

Since the capacity of a jack does not have to hold or lift the entire weight of the trailer and the boat, you will just need to make sure that the trailer when loaded has a tongue weight less than 1,200 pounds. For a 2,000 pound boat plus the weight of the trailer, it is unlikely that the tongue weight would be more than 1,200 pounds so you will be able to use the Fulton Bolt-Thru Swivel Marine Jack, # FXP10W0301.
