Strongest Trailer Hitch Receiver for a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee
Question:
I own a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited with a 5.7L Hemi gas engine. I would like to find the strongest/most weight bearing hitch and was hoping to find a Class 4 or 5 hitch, but I only see Class 3 options. Do they not make Class 4 or 5 hitches for my vehicle? I would also prefer a Draw-Tite hitch if possible, thanks!

They do not make a Class IV or V trailer hitch receiver for your 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee that I am aware of. The highest rated hitch we have for you is the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C13182 which is a Class III hitch that is rated for 600 lbs tongue weight (TW) and 6,000 lbs gross trailer weight (GTW). If you prefer Draw-Tite then the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 75699 which is also a Class III hitch but is rated for 500 lbs tongue weight (TW) and 5,000 lbs gross trailer weight (GTW) would be your next best option.
Please note that with the use of a weight distribution system, the capacities of either hitch will increase to 750 lbs TW and 7,500 lbs GTW. A weight distribution system is recommended if the gross trailer weight (GTW) is more than 50% of the Jeep's gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) anyhow. I have attached an article on weight distribution for you. I have also attached a photo of each hitch installed. As you can see, the Draw-Tite hitch is much more concealed and is the one I recommend for you.
