Trailer Hitch and Wiring Recommendation for 2012 Mazda CX-9

Question:

I have to install a trailer hitch and wiring on a 2012 Mazda CX9. I understand there are two different wiring harnesses? With or without factory towing package? How do I determine which one I need? Thank you

Since your 2012 Mazda CX-9 did not come with a trailer hitch that would indicate it does not have the tow package. Also the fact that you don't have trailer wiring is evidence of this as well. So you'd want the Tekonsha kit part # 118520 which is a confirmed fit and will work well.

For a trailer hitch I'd recommend the Draw Tite part # 75531 which is a 2 inch trailer hitch which would not ever require a stabilizer strap with a non-supported load like a bike rack like the Curt hitch does.
