Towing a Trailer with a 7-Way Connector with a Vehicle that Has a 4-Way Connector
Question:
I have a 2007 Ford Edge with no Brake Controller and a 4 Way flat. The PUP camper I just purchased has a 7 way. Can I connect these without getting a trailer brake controller installed?

You won't have a fully functioning 7-way but you can use an adapter like part # 37185 to connect your 2007 Ford Edge and trailer. If you don't connect the extra wires on the adapter to anything then you will still only be powering the trailer's stop, tail, and turn lights.
If you want to also control the trailer's brakes you need to convert the existing 4-way to a 7-way using our kit # ETBC7 and adding a brake controller like the Prodigy P3, part # 90195. Without installing a controller the brakes will not activate.
