Recommended 5th Wheel Hitch for a 2015 Ram 1500 with the 5-1/2 Foot Bed
Question:
What hitch would you recommend for a 2015 Ram 57inch bed. I will be using a Lippert Turning Point pin box. I would prefer the rails be under the bed. I do have the factory bedliner in the truck.

I do have options for you but they do not make any under-bed mounting kits for your 2015 Ram 1500 with the 5-1/2' bed. I recommend taking a look at the Curt A16 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch part # C16120. This hitch has a 16,000 lb weight capacity for heavy duty towing, a two jaw locking system for maximum jaw to kingpin contact, and a fully articulating torsion head for easy hookups. It also has built-in zerk fittings which allows for easy lubrication.
In order to install this hitch in the bed of your truck you are going to need an above bed install kit like the Curt Custom Fifth Wheel Installation Kit part # C16444-204. This kit features custom fit brackets that will not require any drilling into the truck's frame and has a carbide finish for rust resistance. It is also made right here in the U.S.A.
If you have a plastic drop-in bedliner then it will need to be trimmed for the hitch but if it is a spray-in bedliner than no additional modifications will need to be made. I have attached an install video of this hitch and rail kit on a similar 2016 Ram 1500 for you as well.
