Recommended 7-Way and 4-Way Wiring Simultaneously for 2006 Toyota Tundra
Question:
Hello, I need help with wiring and the proper product. I have a Palomino Bronco pop up camper on my truck. The camper lights are wired to plug in the 7-pin to the back of the truck. My problem is that most of the items I will trailer at the same time as the camper is on the truck, such as a boat trailer require a 4-pin setup. What can I do to make it so I have both lights on the camper and the boat working at the same time? 2006 Toyota Tundra Thanks

For your 2006 Toyota Tundra, I recommend you use a connector like the Hopkins Plug-In Simple Vehicle Wiring Harness for Factory Tow Package - 7-Way and 4-Flat Connectors # HM43385. This connector will give you both the 7-way and the 4-way functions so you can utilize both connections.
Because you have a camper in the bed of your truck, you may want to consider adding a second 7-way connection to the bed of your truck that simply plugs in line with your current 7-way so no splicing is required. For that application, I recommend the Bargman wiring harness # 50-97-410. I've attached a video to assist. The only issue is you may need to splice in the connector and using both at the same time could possibly draw too much power depending on how many lights your camper or boat trailer have. Usually this is not an issue but it is a possibility.
