Recommended Suspension Enhancements for a 2007 Toyota Tundra

Question:

Do tundras just have weak rear springs for towing or do they need help. 07crewmax 30foot jayco TT EQUILIZER HITCH setup.

It is not by any means uncommon for a truck to sag a bit while towing a trailer. The amount of sag will have to do with both the condition of the suspension components in addition to the tongue weight of the trailer. Since you already have an Equal-i-zer weight distribution system, I would first make sure the spring bars are appropriately rated for the total tongue weight (TTW) of the truck/trailer. The TTW is the loaded ready to tow tongue weight of the trailer by any cargo behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle.

Once this is confirmed, I would then look at adding a set of suspension enhancements. Most weight distribution systems are only designed to gain back half of the original ride height in the rear so even with a properly rated an installed weight distribution system, sag can occur.

In order to minimize the sag, I recommend using the SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs part # SSR-610-54 which replace the factory bump stops with a set of microcellular urethane springs that will work to reduce sag and minimize sway. The best feature about these springs is that they will not really negatively affect ride quality as most others will.
