Whenever a trailer wiring harness has a circuit that stays on all the time that means that the converter box like what comes with the # C56344 has shorted out and you'll have to replace it.
Since these boxes don't short out on their own typically you'll want to go over your trailer's wiring looking for any obvious signs of shorts like corrosion or exposed wire and fix as needed.
We've found that the most reliable brand of trailer wiring is the Tekonsha brand so for a new harness I'd recommend the # 118539.
