Which Thule Cargo Boxes Will Fit a 2017 Mazda CX-9
Question:
I would like to know what would be the maximum size Thule roof top carrier will fit a 2017 Mazda CX9 signature variant. I saw the Thule 6297 - Motion XT - 16 Cubic Foot Cargo Box - Titan to fit this car. But is there a bigger version than this that can fit this car?

All of the Thule roof cargo boxes will fit the factory roof rack on your 2017 Mazda CX-9. If you are concerned about rear hatch clearance then there is a measurement you can take on the vehicle to determine which boxes will fit without hatch interference.
First, if the crossbars on your roof rack can be moved, slide the front bar as far forward as it will go. Then with the rear hatch open measure from the center of the front bar straight back to the nearest part of the open hatch. If you can tell me that measurement I can tell you which boxes will not interfere.
The Thule Motion XT # TH629706 will require at least 47-1/2 inches to avoid interference with the rear hatch.
