In order to install the Reese 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch part # RP30047 on your 2017 Ford F-250 you are going to want to use the Reese Quick-Install Custom Outboard Installation Kit part # RP56017-53. This is a custom install kit that will not require any drilling into the truck's frame.
If you have a Sidewinder then you can use the fixed 5th wheel hitch with your 6-3/4' bed but if you have a standard non-rotating pin box then you are indeed going to need a sliding 5th wheel hitch in order to allow for turning clearance. The sliding version of the above hitch is the Reese 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Square Tube Slider part # RP30051. You can install this hitch using the same install kit part # RP56017-53 listed above.
I have attached a review video of the sliding 5th wheel hitch for you as well.
