Troubleshooting Brake Controller Possibly Making Trailer Brakes Hot to Touch
Question:
I have a new Curt Venturer controller The sync adjustment will only go as low as three bars.will this make my brakes hot?

You should be able to go all the way down to one bar on the sync setting so if your Curt Venturer # C74VV is stuck on three I would recommend unplugging it for a few minutes to let it reset and then try again. 3 bars wouldn't overheat your brakes though unless the brakes are applying all the time? Can you check the output pin of the brake controller circuit with a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 to see if there is voltage on that pin at all times?
