Best Weight Distribution System for Sway Control

Question:

Hello, I have a 2012 F-150 4x4 that I am towing a 36 foot travel trailer. Dry weight of 7500# and a TW of between 1000 and 1100, depending on the gear in the bed of the truck. The dealer provided a basic weight distribution hitch and a friction sway bar. I am getting a lot of sway on the highway and would like to know if upgrading to a different hitch would help with that. Thanks

Absolutely, the most effective weight distribution system we carry in regards to sway control is the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System. These are considered to be one of the best on the market. They have a 4-point sway control system whereas most others only have a 2-point sway control system.

As long as the total tongue weight (TTW) of your towing setup which is the tongue weight of the loaded trailer and any cargo behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle does not exceed 1,400 lbs, then I recommend using part # EQ37140ET. This system comes with both a shank and hitch ball which means you do not need to make any additional purchases.

I have attached a review/install video for you as well.
