Since your 2005 Dodge Dakota has a plug location for a brake controller you will need the Dodge Adapter, # 3020-P. This is the brake controller plus the vehicle specific wiring harness that will plug into the plug on the truck. I have included a link to the installation details for the brake controller for you.
