Fastway E2 Weight Distribution Recommendation for Trailer That Weighs 4,000 lb Loaded
Question:
I have a brand new Fastway E2 FA-94-00-1000 and wondering if it might be too much for my vehicle and trailer. Concerned I might get bouncing. I have a Haulmark 7X12 trailer tandem axle 7000 GVWR, 1800 dry. Haul a 1200 lb Harley Tri Glide with approx. 1000 lbs of other gear. I can already see I need to get a different shank. After doing the measurements I need the next size in order to keep the trailer level.

So your trailer when fully loaded is going to weigh right at 4,000 lbs. That means your tongue weight is most likely between 400 and 600 lbs. If you were at the 600 lb weight you'd be at the bottom of the # FA94-00-1000 weight range as it has a range of 600 to 1,000 lbs. The better option would be the part # FA94-00-0600 which has a tongue weight range of 400-600 lbs just like what your trailer would have.
For a drop shank you'd then want the part # RP3344 which will work well with this kit.
