Compatibility of Yakima HoldUp 4 Bike Rack on 2014 Ford Explorer

Reference the yakima #Y02443-2, will I have enough clearance to open the rear hatch of a 2014 Explorer with the rack lowered and bikes attached?

The Yakima HoldUp 4 Bike Platform Rack - 2" Hitches - Tilting # Y02443-2 has a distance of 12 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole on your trailer hitch receiver to the closest wheel cradle. When tilted you will might have access to the back of your 2014 Ford Explorer but may not be able to completely open your hatch and access cargo. Take a look at the attached video. It will depend on the type and size of the bike that is loaded closest to your vehicle.

For instance, the Curt # C13386 trailer hitch receiver has a measurement of 4-1/2 inches from the outermost part of the bumper. That gives you 7-1/2 inches of clearance from the bumper to the closest wheel cradle prior to tilting for hatch access.
