The most popular trailer hitch for your 2017 Toyota Prius V is Draw-Tite hitch # 24847. This is a Class I trailer hitch with a 1-1/4 inch receiver rated for 200 pounds tongue weight and 2,000 pounds gross trailer weight. If your Prius is rated for towing then the capacity should be in the owner's manual. If lower than the hitch capacity go by the lower rating.
The recommended ball mount for this hitch is # 3593. If your trailer takes a 1-7/8 inch ball use # 19256. If it takes a 2 inch ball use # 19258. And for a trailer wiring harness you can use # 118610 to add a 4-Way flat connector to the rear of the vehicle.
