Leaf Spring Replacements Compatible With 10K Trailer With Dual Axles

Question:

I have a dual Axel trailer thats rated for 10k pounds with a broken spring. Do I have to buy a spring of 10k pounds or less than 10k pounds?

Expert Reply:

For your replacement leaf spring on your 10K trailer with dual axles, you will want a spring rated at 2,500 lbs capacity or more so the 2 springs that attach to your axle will not limit your trailer capacity.

For instance we have the 4-Leaf Double-Eye Spring for 5,000-lb Trailer Axles - 25-1/4" Long # e44SR or the 4-Leaf Slipper Spring w/ Hook End for 5,000-lb Trailer Axles - 26-5/8" Long # SP-231275 each rated for 2,500 lbs.

The measurements of your current springs will also be an important factor. I've attached an article to assist.
