Using Redarc In-Vehicle BCDC Battery Charger to Charge Lithium Ion Battery

Question:

Where is the wire, suppling the +12V to the one o clock position on my Duramax 2500 7 way connection, feed from? I need 14.6v to fully recharge my RV Lithium Ion battery. How does a Redarc BCDC battery charger amplify 12.5V DC to 14.6V DC?

The wire that is going to the 12V pin on your Silverado's 7-Way connector is connected to the truck's battery. You should be getting 12 volts of power at the this pin (1 o'clock position) on the connector.

The Redarc In-Vehicle BCDC Battery Charger # 331-BCDC1240D referenced in your question is a great option for charging your Lithium ion battery. When hooked up to the truck's battery or alternator, it will do a nice job of maintaining the battery's charge, but to actually charge it from a more depleted state, you will likely need to add a solar panel to the unit. When connected to a solar panel, the charger will automatically draw power from the panels first before tapping into the vehicle battery.

The Redarc Charger features an output voltage of 12V DC.
