Recommended Front and Rear Camper Tie-Downs for 2004 Chevy Silverado 2500HD With 8' Bed

Question:

Thanks so much for getting back to me. My apologies for leaving such pertinent information out on my original email. I'm investigating the hitch I currently have. I believe it is a Factory OEM but I'd like to make sure before I order the tie downs. Would you happen to know if the TALON V-5 HITCH is what Chevy uses? In any case here's my info: •2004 Chevy Silverado 2500HD •crew cab (2 full doors on each side) •8 foot bed •running boards (actually they are pipes or bars) •Hitch - Talon V-5 Also, on the Torklift website where it says to measure the truck to see if I'll need the HD or LD application it says to "click here" for instructions but there isn't a link to click. Thanks again.

Thanks for the info, but I do need a little more. Is your Silverado a 1500, 2500 or 3500 and if 1500 or 2500 is it HD or LD? Also, I'd need your bed size and if the hitch is from the factory or is an aftermarket hitch. If you can get back to me with that info I'd be happy to find you the correct tie-downs.

Thanks for the info! Based on that we have the exact camper tie-downs you need for your 2004 Chevy Silverado 2500HD, the TorkLift # TLC2204 will be the front tie-downs and TorkLift # TLC3206 will be the rear tie-downs; these do attach to the frame of the truck like you wanted. They are a fit for an '04 Silverado 2500HD with an 8' bed and that does not have a board or step underneath the bed of the truck. To address some of your questions, based on my research it looks like the V-5 Talon is the OEM hitch for the '04 Silverado 2500HD, however, these tie-downs will work with a factory, non-aftermarket or Torklift SuperHitch Magnum 30K hitch so you're covered. Additionally, since you know you have a 2500HD you will not need to measure for the HD or LD version. You will also need turnbuckles to secure your camper to the tie-downs (TorkLift also requires these to maintain the warranty on its tie-downs) and I recommend the TorkLift Locking FastGun Turnbuckles # TLS9529-2-LK. These turnbuckles are for use with frame-mounted tie-downs, have lever-action handles which make them easy to use, and come with 4 locks which are keyed alike as well as a pair of keys. I've added video reviews for you to check out on the tie-downs and turnbuckles as well.
