Recommended WD System for a Rockwood 2109S or a 2510S Travel Trailer
Question:
We just purchased a new 2018 Ford F-150 3.5 ecoboost with max tow package we are looking at purchasing a Rockwood 2109S gvwr 5726 lbs, hitch weight 446 lbs. OR a Rockwood 2510S gvwr 6871 lbs, hitch weight 711 lbs.. What weight “equalizer”/ sway hitch do you recommend?

My personal favorite Weight Distribution (WD) systems are the Reese Strait-Line because they are one of the few systems that actually fight sway before it starts instead of correcting it after it has initiated.
You want to choose a WD system with a Tongue Weight (TW) range that the Total Tongue Weight (TTW) of your towing setup falls in the middle of. To find the TTW of your towing setup you will need to add the TW of your fully loaded and ready-to-go trailer along with the weight of any cargo behind the rear axle of your tow vehicle. Keep in mind that a properly loaded trailer will have a TW that is 10-15% of the loaded weight of your trailer.
The range of TW when looking at BOTH trailers is 570 lbs - 1,030 lbs. For this application I recommend the Strait-Line # RP66084 which has a TW range of 600 lbs - 1,200 lbs so either way it will allow you to add some cargo behind the rear axle of your 2018 Ford F-150 and still remain within the TW range of the system. This system comes with a shank, but you will also need either a 2" hitch ball # A-90 or a 2-5/16" hitch ball # 19286 to complete your towing setup.
If you will have limited space on the frame of your trailer and you don't think that the clamps will be able to fit you can install the Chain Hangers # RP58305 which bolt on to the side of your frame. This allows you to use a WD system even if you have propane tanks or a battery that may be in the way of the brackets.
I have linked some review videos and help articles for you to reference as well.
