Brake Controller Wiring on 2007 GMC Canyon

Question:

I have recently purchased a brake controller and a 4 blade to 7 blade converter. I understand most of what I need to know but am in question as to the location of the brake controller wire at the back end of my 2007 gmc canyon. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

We can help you complete your brake controller 7-way installation. I linked for reference two helpful articles covering this topic to which you might care to refer.

Brake controllers like the Prodigy P3 # 90195 have four wires; the blue wire carries the controller output signal for the trailer's electric brakes. This circuit is carried on the contact at the 5:00 position as you look at the 7-way socket, as shown in the linked photo.

The other wires on the controller are +12V operating power (black wire), ground (white wire) and brake switch signal input (red wire).

For brake controller installation in your truck we recommend out install kit # ETBC7 which includes a 4-to-7-way adapter # 37185 as well as other wiring and connector parts required to complete the installation.
