How to Add Brakes to 3,500 lbs Trailers Without Brakes
Question:
Do you have a kit to add elect, brakes to my trailers that currently have no brakes at all? I want to add brakes to these 3500lb trailers and use a good brake controller but Id like to buy one kit that contains the whole enchilada. First trailer is a Carson enclosed 6 x 10 utility. 3500lb axle rating on tag with a flange for backing plate. Caveat is that these suckers have different size wheels. Flatbed us 4 1/2 x 5. Box is 5 x 5, I think. Second trailer is a flatbed 6x 10 utility. 3500 lb axle rating on tag with flange Thanks

We have everything you need to add brakes to both of your trailers. I've listed all of the parts below that you will need for each trailer
Carson Enclosed Trailer
Brake Assemblies - # AKEBRK-35-SA
Hub/Drum Assembly - # AKHD-550-35-EZ-K
Hardware - # BRKH10B
7-Way Upgrade wiring Kit - # HS381-9000
Breakaway Kit - # 20099
Heat Shrink Butt Connectors - # DW05745-10
Flatbed Trailer
Brake Assemblies - # AKEBRK-35-SA
Hub/Drum Assembly - # AKHD-545-35-EZ-K

7-Way Upgrade wiring Kit - # HS381-9000
Breakaway Kit - # 20099

The only difference between the parts lists are that the hubs for the flatbed trailer have a 5 on 4-1/2 inch bolt pattern and the hubs for the Carson trailer have the 5 on 5 inch bolt pattern. I've attached a few installation videos and a help article for you to check out on these parts just in case you plan on doing the work yourself. If you have any further questions, feel free to reach out to us.
