In order to get the right Weight Distribution (WD) system for your new trailer and towing setup, you will need to know your actual Tongue Weight (TW) with your new trailer when fully loaded and ready to tow. You will also need to include any weight from behind the rear axle of your tow vehicle. As you determine this weight, keep in mind that the TW is 10% to 15% of the total loaded weight of your trailer. A great tool to help with determining your tongue weight is the etrailer Trailer Tongue Weight Scale, Item # e99044.
After you have that Tongue Weight (TW) figured out, your ideal WD system will be one where the total TW of your towing setup falls in the middle of the TW range of the WD system.
If you tongue weight lands in the middle of your Husky Center Line Weight Distribution with Sway Control System, Item # HT32216, which has a TW range from 400 lbs to 600 lbs with a maximum capacity of 6,000 lbs then you will be fine with changing spring bars with something like Item # HT32330. If more than this range then you will need a new Husky Center Line Weight Distribution System like Item # HT32217 or Item # HT32218.
The Husky WD system, Item # HT32217, has a TW range from 600 lbs to 800 lbs and a maximum weight capacity of 8,000 lbs. The Husky WD system, Item # HT32218, has a TW range from 800 lbs to 1,200 lbs and a maximum weight capacity of 12,000 lbs. Both systems include: head assembly, chrome hitch ball, adjustable shank, spring bars, frame brackets, spring bar lift tool, and all necessary hardware.
Find your tongue weight and then pick the right Husky Weight Distribution system where the tongue weight lands in the middle of the range and you will be good to go.
