Recommended Wheel/Tire Combo for a 6 Ply Radial ST205/75R15 Size Tire

Question:

I have a single axle utility trailer that I want to change out the hub assemblies and upgrade to a larger wheel and tire setup. I currently have Dexter 8-258 hubs and use ST205/75R 14s. I want to increase to 15s. Can you assist me with pricing out the right hub assembly to be able to use 15-inch wheel/tire combos ST205/75R 15 for my trailer? Also, any suggestions for a reliable 8ply radial tire for this setup would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your assistance!!

If you need to replace your Dexter 8-258 hubs then we have a few options for you depending on what bearings your hub uses. For # L44649 inner and outer bearings you need part # 8-258-5UC1 while you will need part # 8-258BTUC1 if you have # L44643 inner and outer bearings.

Since these hubs are already compatible with a 15" wheel and they have a 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern (which is the most common) you actually have a variety of choices when it comes to wheel/tire combos. I have linked our selection for you to filter through.

Out of the linked selection I recommend the 8 ply Westlake ST205/75R15 Radial Trailer Tire w/ 15" Silver Mod Wheel # LHAW121 which has a Load Range D (2,150 lbs at 65 psi), speed rating of 75 mph, and the wheel has the popular 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern. This tire comes already mounted on the wheel.

I have linked a review video of this combo for you to check out.
